Next steps if not Ready

• If gateway ping fails: fix local segment/VLAN/NAC before touching upstream.
• If IP-to-IP works but names fail: stop and validate DNS resolver, suffix, split-DNS, and proxy policy.
• If intermittent: measure loss/latency; check duplex mismatches, wireless interference, or upstream congestion.
• If this is a cutover: ensure rollback path is defined and documented.
